  4. Wonder if the Hampden gnome that put the stop to this was the person at the SFA Registration Department who advised that changing a player from Professional Status to Amateur whilst registered to a team would cause 'chaos' even though the player in question is registered to an amateur side at present and intends remaining with that side! To change status the club would have to cancel his registration and then re-sign him after the status has been changed. When asked if this was due to limitations within the database the response was 'definitely not'!
  5. Message from SYFA to member clubs specifically states that an agreement was/is in place and it is now on hold until such times as the issue with the databases is resolved. This issue was something that the SYFA and Fife Youth League were aware off and appeared to have had an acceptable workaround in place bearing in mind that it is/was the SYFA registration that wasn't on the database, the SAFA one was. But no doubt somebody at Hampden needed to justify their salary. The youth clubs were informed by e-mail at 16:59 today - talk about last minute. Can't see why the change to the database(s) should take long as a solution already exists at Hampden as what they are seeking is possible between Junior and SYFA databases. I know of one Youth side that has used players (registered 'correctly' following the guidelines/form on SYFA website) from two different Amateur sides - one in Fife League other in Kingdom. SAFA / SYFA AGREEMENT ON HOLD URGENT - the agreement advertised between the SAFA and the SYFA regarding the dual registration of players is ON HOLD due to there being no ability for both clubs to register the players online on the SFA Registration database. Please DO NOT PLAY ANY PLAYER who is currently registered for an SAFA club in any matches until this problem is resolved. This is especially important that you are aware of this due to this being Scottish Cup Weekend. Only play players which appear on your list of registered players. If protested against for playing a player registered at this time with an SAFA club will mean you loose the Games and could be dealt with under SFA registration rules. This problem may be resolved quite soon but unfortunately not before this weekend's fixtures. We will keep you up to date on Twitter and Facebook as this develops and as the SFA process gets amended. I hope that we have got this info to you in time as it only came to light at 2.30pm today Friday . Any questions please contact us on Monday. Mitch Mitch Agnew Scottish Youth FA
  6. 6 teams at 21s is far from ideal but talk is that 4 19s have already said they intend to move up next season so fingers crossed. First season was always going to be hardest but teams involved are aware of the situation. To be fair to the league, they are trying to make things as interesting as possible by introducing an inter age group cup (u19/u21) and an inter region cup competition involving Fife/Edinburgh teams. That said the lad may not be eligible to play 21s anyway - will depend on year of birth. He might want to look at changing team within youths if he's not happy where he is.

  11. The CEFSSA Secretary should be able to tell what teams are based in Kirkcaldy at the age group 07706191925 Email secretary@cefssa.co.uk
  12. Spoke to SYFA and official there confirmed that there is an agreement between SAFA and SYFA. He didn't go into too many details other than to say that the player must be signed with the Youth team first and a form is then submitted to Hampden for the Amateur registration which input manually. He directed me to the SYFA website for the form http://www.scottishyouthfa.co.uk/index.php/information-downloads/membership-and-insurance Although the form is straight forward and suggests otherwise, the agreement document in the same section says that this is restricted to Under 21s and Sunday Amateurs. Suspect that this was written with West & Edinburgh u21 sides in mind as they play Saturday's and was probably in discussion/written before the Fife 21s (Sunday games) were launched.
  13. As someone who had fairly extensive experience of Delayed Transfers from a Youth perspective with an u19 side last season (we had 7 players at various Junior sides) it was possible to sign players the other way (i.e. on delayed transfer from Junior to Youth) as we had another 2 players via this route. In all instances we used a form* supplied by the Junior club although didn't notice if this was an SJFA or SFA form but suspect it was the latter. In both scenarios the the Delayed Transfer was clearly shown on the SYFA player registration website. Youth sides were informed that this was being extended to amateur clubs but we've not looked into the process (if possible) yet. *hand written form that is clearly input to the registration system by the gnomes at Hampden
  14. The SYFA Supplementary & Playing Rules state: "65. A player registered by means of an SFA Recreational Form or a local League / Association Registration Form shall only play for the club for which he is registered, except that he may play; - (1) for another club in membership of the SYFA provided that to do so is not contrary to the regulations of the SYFA: (2) for a representative team selected and organised by a recognised football body: (3) in any circumstances governed by agreement between the Scottish Junior FA and the SYFA provided that the player is not currently registered by means of a Non-Recreational Youth Player Registration Form for a club in Full or Associate membership of the Scottish FA or in membership of an Affiliated Association; (4) for a club in full or associate membership of the SYFA or in membership of an Affiliated Association in any match in which he is eligible to play provided that the written permission of his club is obtained prior to each match, unless he is currently registered by means of Non-Recreational Amateur or Youth Player Registration Forms for a club in full or associate membership of the SYFA or in membership of an affiliated association in which case he may only play for the club that he is registered with upon a Non-Recreational Amateur or Youth Registration Form. Point 3 is the key one and therefore youth players can also play for Junior sides. Believe there is a similar agreement with the Highland League and it was certainly mentioned to the Youth teams that a something was being put in place for Amateur sides this season although haven't seen anything in writing. http://www.scottishyouthfa.co.uk/images/document-downloads/supplementary/Supplementary-Playing-Rules-2015-2016.pdf
