    Ref packs in

Definitely Bobsy has quit. Spoke to him today and he said it's just not worth the aggro losing your Saturday when there's so many better things to do than put up with that level of conduct. Got to say, if what's been said is true, you can't blame him. Refereeing is a thankless task and you can't be everywhere and see everything all the time. But likewise, you make decisions based on what you see. He doesn't have VAR or any other second opinion to rely. And contrary to what the Leven players were saying to him, he's not biased or got Cupar on a coupon. Think people need to reign in their abuse and comments of officials a little or there would be no games. I appreciate a lot is heat of the moment, but there's no need to accuse an official of cheating.

Many teams planning to get the legs stretched with some non contact training? brilliant that boys are able to get out and stretch the legs and get a bleather and see each other if nothing else! Was a welcome surprise from the announcement on Tuesday

Sounds like a disgruntled ex player started this thread? Whatever the reasons for whatever has gone on, the following round of ex players to their games to make life awkward or mouthing off and ridicule on Social Media (here, Twitter and Facebook) should really stop as it's you that are looking for bad ones.

    Football re starting????

The protocols are a pain but I would stick my left bollock in a vice every Saturday if it meant getting a game of football. For those of a playing age the mental side of things much more prevalent than the virus. The risks are minimal on a football pitch especially when we were not allowed changing rooms. Probably a much lower risk than going to the supermarket. At the end of the day, no one is forced to play. Players, committee and management have an option to be involved or not but you have continually pushed for the season to be ended since it was started. Perhaps time to step aside.

    Football re starting????

At least with the proposition put forward by the league those that are against playing can sit at home watching dross on tv and let the rest of us get on with playing football rather than trying to have football stopped for all.

When training resumed in July - there was almost 0 cases nationally and you wanted it stopped. The virus remained low through August and you wanted the plans for games to be scrapped. The games were played in September with little issue. Now in October/November sadly due to factors outwith football, the virus has returned and rightly football will step aside. Dont come on here on top of any moral high horse claiming you had it spot on. You didnt. People who wanted football back knew 100% that the chances were the season would be stop/start and we were happy with that. Its stopped now and rightly so, and it will start again when its safe - no doubt when it does you and your crystal ball will be back predicting doomsday. You said football would never come back at all, and it did, and it’ll resume in not too long again. Cheers.

I don’t know if this is a dig at us Colin but I can assure you that we are certainly not happy with the current situation. Regardless of what tier we were in going to be in, there was no chance of us playing the next few weeks. We as a squad and club have no interest in going through what we went through last week, not worth it. Show me anyone else that would be daft enough to risk another isolation 2 weeks after they have just been through one. We all love playing football but not that much....

    KFAFA FIXTURES through Nov 7th

I wouldn’t worry about it mate, there’s more to life than amateur football. That famous cap of your’s still has a few seasons in it yet. We as a club voted against starting back as we all felt that it was too soon to be starting back in the current climate. Don’t get me wrong, nobody has forced us to play and it was all our own choice. In hindsight had we known how easily we could be caught up in all this like we have yesterday by track & trace then there is no way I would have certainly played & I would imagine the same would be with rest of squad. But bottom line is that we had a choice to play or not, we did play and are now being punished by not being allowed out to work for a week over a game of amateur football. Pete Muir got vilified on here for saying this would happen but he’s been bang on. People saying that they need amateur for mental health reasons might want to think about their mental wellbeing after they have been told they can’t get out to earn money and pay mortgages. I noticed there have been a few games called off with similar situation over the last few weeks, I assume they have all had same scenario we have faced & has call from track and trace? At end of day there is no finger pointing, i am just furious that I’ve now to take 7 days off my work over the head of all this.

    Football re starting????

Would it not be best to leave the dates as they are and continue to hope that the virus levels and all the rest of it continue to fall at the rate they are. This may help to open up options like use of changing facilities etc etc to be brought forward. Everyone is delighted at the prospect of football coming back, but let’s not get to carried away and try to push our luck. Let’s ease back in with some contact training in accordance with the guidelines and then promote towards some friendlies for 2-3 weeks and then the tournament at the end of May. Let’s be honest, the tournament is surely going to be used as a pre season preparation programme anyway??

    Football re starting????

Not every player or team will want to play, that’s why a few teams requested stop, especially self employed folk until vaccinated, so we must think of them too. Listen am in the house isolating cause ma mrs has it, am wanting nothing more than to be oot training and watching boys fall over the ball so am away fi her and the bairn for a bit lol! But we have to still be sensible. A hope your right come June/July were in a much better place. Think we all need a beer and a catch up

    Football re starting????

Training by April would be great but still doubtful. In an ideal world you’d like to get back training in small groups for April and May and then really pick up the tempo for June with 4 weeks of friendlies in July leading in to a competitive start for August. If this was this case you’d just need to hope clubs approach the lift of restrictions with maturity and not just flout them left, right and centre like overloading changing rooms, 10 aside at training etc. Also, teams will be approaching the restart with a dead start. No funds, pitches like a tattie field and changing rooms in a mess. A couple of months to address these situations along with a couple of fundraisers will go a long way. May be a cliche lads, but failure to prepare and all that?? If we get the green light, let’s do it right!! Mon the fitbaw!!!

    Football re starting????

How many teams have been setting running or individual training for their boys over lockdown. I’ve seen maybe one team. A lot of boys have taken to working Saturdays etc without the football, that’ll need to be rearranged with notice. So will childcare for a lot of guys. The idea that we can just click our fingers and be back playing this weekend or next is daft. Boys will need a good pre season as well, give or take the few weeks we had post summer, we’ve been out of organised sport for a year.

    Football re starting????

Summer football will never happen. We’ve had this debate for 15 years now. A cant see us being back training before spring the way it’s going. So we should all prepare for the league restarting August September once were all vaccinated.

    Football re starting????

When I say “soon” I am hoping maybe by the summer. That would be ideal and give us something really exciting to look forward too. But again, going by the current situation, pretty doubtful eh? I know the death toll is nowhere near accurate and I am really dubious about the accuracy of people actually having Covid or Covid symptoms. At the end of the day, soon will never be soon enough as we are all missing what our spare time used to revolve around. Personally, I cannot wait till it’s back and I miss the football just a much as anyone but in the meantime I am being a realist and not negative.

    Football re starting????

There is absolutely no reason we shouldn’t be able to start back when the juniors or East of Scotland start back assuming they do and following the same protocols as before. Once this lockdown is lifted and it’s back into tiers the picture will be much clearer. Still 9 weeks till season needs to start to complete this season so plenty time yet. Have noticed one of the Sunday leagues has changed to summer football either this year or next and looking to change the other association which is the biggest one in Scotland under their banner to that too if all goes well.

There is going to be plenty time to finish the season IF it continues. A understand your bothered you missed 2 games which is 2 weeks. What about the boys who are isolating on sick pay for 2 weeks? Amateur Football is the last thing on peoples minds when they are either self employed or having a family to provide for. A hope everyone affected and in isolation are safe and well.

That’s Pittenweem squad been contacted by track and trace, told to isolate till 6th November after a Kelty player we played against tested positive. I can only speak for myself but I certainly won’t be playing again until things have calmed down with all this, I can’t afford to take weeks off work over head of a game of football & I imagine the majority of our squad will feel the same. Before anyone comes on here spouting the same pish I’ve read on here over the last few months, I’ve played football in this league for years and like nothing more than a game of football but when it comes to people’s livelihood’s then it’s a simple no ta.

Well if that happens it happens but at the moment we can only go on what we're being told and games are being played, league is due to start and we move beyond level 0 in August. Your definately correct, I'm not the sharpest tool in the box but you definately need to read the data again as it might look like I'm a bit sharper than you. It's great seeing everyone back playing football again and I'm positive we will be back to the sponsors soon for a pint after the game which I'm sure thats 100% is what all players want to do after a saturday afternoon playing the game.

From August at some point the requirement to isolate as a close contact is being dropped for vaccinated folks. Will be a relief to boys who are jagged and dont wanna play football, risking having to isolate from work. Doesn’t sound like a step towards level 3 to me?
