  1. Quite right as well. Everybody thought that Bowhill would struggle after the old manager left, but it was the opposite as they became the best team that they have ever had, after previously won nothing since they joined the kingdom league, just think what they might have done had a change been done a few years back. I say let Bowhill gloat and boast about this season, as plenty of other teams who have won things do it.
  2. Few players that played this season that played for Bowhill wouldn't have played under the previous manager for one reason or another, Pud has gelled the team together into a trophy winning side.
  3. Well done Bowhill, and as I said before the new manager has brought the team on loads, after finishing the last few seasons middle of the table.
  4. Great achievement by Bowhill, they have improved so much this season and this goes down to the manager, coaches and the committee. I say this because over the last few seasons they have been middle of the table at best( apart from one season they finished runners up). And the players they brought in have proved that given the chance they would succeed.
  5. Can somebody please tell me, who is against merging both set ups? Is it the kingdom association or is the fafa association who is opposed to it??
  6. Good point, but is a player going to be willing to be out of pocket, as a club will surely have a limit to the amount of expenses they can give out!!!! And say you have a squad of 25 payers all claiming say £25, over the two weeks it would cost more to pay expenses than to hire out a bus for the 2 games!!!!!
  7. My point exactly James, how can a junior club afford to spend around £1000 just on travelling alone!!!! I think the set up when the super league first started was the best, still have regional leagues underneath the super league and the winners of each league get promoted with the bottom 3 getting relegated , will cut down on costs and still give clubs an incentive to try and, gain promotion!!!
  8. I talked about this at the start of the season and I was shot down by some people on here, Steelend won't be the last team to have financial problems this season, there was a warning last season when a super league club asked their players to take a wage cut to help them through the winter months, surely clubs with less resources had to sit up and take notice when that happened.!!!!!! As I said before the set up is turning fans and players away!!!!
  9. They have a small squad, a few injuries/ suspensions to key players for them, might hinder their chances!!!
  10. How many players have the strollers signed?? They seemed to have a big squad last season!!
  11. Never played in the fife league, if we're going to be correct about things!!!
  12. I have played in both set ups, and yes the super league was great to start with, but I think now it has maybe run its course, if I'm right I think there have been only four winners of the super league since it began, and not one Fife team has won it. And if you look at the teams who have won it, it has been teams that have had money to spend on players. Maybe the only exception to this would be Bonnyrigg, but they managed to attract one of HOB' s best players to them at the start of the season because they offered him more money. I agree with the league cup thing, but it would be better if it was a knock out competition. As for meaningless games, there are going to be quite a few with the new set up!!!
  13. I don't know why they voted for it, and I'm not saying I'm right, all I'm saying it makes sense, especially in today's current financial climate, for clubs to try and get people to watch them. A lot of people don't go and watch senior football now because of the costs, and IMO I'm saying it would make sense for the Fife league to be considered as a way of trying to attract people back to watch the junior game. Maybe a few years down the road I might be proved right, or I could be totally wrong and the leagues will prove to be a success, only time will tell!!
