The council can confirm that it has written to Clyde FC this afternoon. We have exercised our rights under the terms of our contract with Clyde FC for their use of Broadwood Stadium, in particular the clause which entitles the council to refuse entry to the stadium to any individual on the grounds of undesirable behaviour. We have informed the club that David Goodwillie must not be permitted access to the stadium, for any purpose, with immediate effect. Should Mr Goodwillie enter the stadium, we will consider the contract to have been breached and we will take immediate steps to terminate it.

The entire playing squad and general manager of Clyde's women's team have quit the club after the men's side re-signed David Goodwillie.

  4. Unfortunately, in all levels of football, it is always the players that get the managers out. Easier to change the manager than a whole group of players. Pish, but it will never change.
  5. Why even mention pedophilia at all in your post? Nothing in any way similar to the situation at hand. As the other poster stated, there is a very prominent thread and multiple other threads on here about the subject so I do not see where you are coming from with this protecting nonsense. Just my opinion.
  6. Mocking "making fun of someone or something in a cruel way", that is exactly what the person did. He made fun of a certain group of people, in this case, supporters of a football team. How in any way is that on a level with pedophilia? Don't even try and bring me into your paranoia about some sort of conspiracy I just called you out on your outrageous comment
  7. "Don’t know about you Pav but I don’t want my son anywhere near a man who is filled with such hatred, or a club who condones such behaviour. And this forum going out of their way to protect them is no different from those that hide the paedos living among us in my opinion. " That is an outrageous statement The guy referred to a certain group of people in a mocking way, pretty poor taste but hardly compares to pedophilia? Unbelievable Jeff

Latest Statement The Board of Directors and CEO, having reflected further on what we have already acknowledged was an incorrect decision around a deadline day transfer, would like to provide our supporters, volunteers and the wider community connected to the club with an update. In doing so, we ask that everyone takes cognisance of the fact that a number of legal and financial issues are still being discussed with concerned parties, and as such we are restricted to the extent of information we can share at this time. The past two weeks have been an awful period in the club’s long and proud history, and once again we want to say sorry for the damage that has been caused and to those affected in any way by the issues raised. We fully acknowledge that there is still a long journey ahead of us to reach a position where the many thousands of people who are part of the Raith Rovers family feel they have trust and confidence in those of us who take the day-to-day decisions at the club. Some of the first steps on this journey are already underway. We have reached out to the supporters’ groups, and meetings have already taken place, with more planned over the coming weeks to begin discussions that will lead to agreement on a plan to repair the reputational and financial damage. We know this will not be easy and we are not underestimating the size of the task ahead of us. It is, however, one we are wholly committed to in the belief that the club can come out of this stronger in the long term. The past two weeks have also provided an important reminder that the club relies on the time, energy and commitment of volunteers across many activities. We have never taken our volunteers for granted, and we are saddened that some have taken the decision to step aside from their roles in the current circumstances. We fully understand and respect such actions, but it is our hope, and sincere wish, that as we strive to rebuild and repair the trust and relationships within the Rovers family, that they will return to the club. Similarly, we hope that those fans whose anger at the events of deadline day has led to them withdraw their support, will judge us on the progress we are promising and in due course feel they are able to make a return to Stark’s Park. We have also commenced consultations on a thorough review of the composition Board of Directors of the Club, with a view to broadening the experience and expertise of the Board and to ensure that all our stakeholders are fully represented. We will complete this by the end of the season and we will then communicate the results. Meanwhile the remaining four Board Members, the CEO and all club staff are fully engaged on keeping the Club going through this difficult time. Finally, as a Board and the CEO, we would like to say how proud we were of the team and management for their efforts in the recent cup tie at Celtic Park. The score did not in any way reflect the performance they delivered on the pitch, while the performance and support from the fans off the pitch was also outstanding. It was a reminder of just how precious the link is between the club, the players and those who cheer us on. Board of Directors and CEO

Rovers statement I firstly want to apologise wholeheartedly to our fans, sponsors, players and the wider Raith Rovers community for the anguish and anger caused over the past few days. We got it wrong. In reaching our original decision, we focused far too much on football matters and not enough on what this decision would mean for our club and the community as a whole. Over the past couple of days, we listened carefully to the fans who have got in touch and I’m very grateful for their honesty. As chairman, as a board and as a management team, we have all learned a hard but valuable lesson. This very unfortunate episode is something that we all bitterly regret and we are now wholly committed to making things right. I can therefore confirm that, following a meeting of the Raith Rovers board, the player will not be selected by Raith Rovers and we will enter into discussions with the player regarding his contractual position. We share a desire to do what is best for our club and will be doing everything in our power to regain the trust and confidence of the Raith Rovers family. Chairman On Behalf of the Board of Raith Rovers FC
