  1. So 2 games in 24 hours was a bit much for us, especially against an admittedly excellent United side. We did make it too easy for them in the first half especially but ended up getting pumped 9-0. A few of their young guys stuck out. Rafa Malaga (ex Real Madrid. You don't get many of them at Recreation Park) and Scott Lochhead (ex-Celtic) both standing out. At least we got a decent crowd in and made a few bob for the club. Onto Eyemouth on Saturday where a win gives us a pretty good chance of progressing out of our group into the Quarter Finals of the League Cup.
  2. Friendly this evening. 7pm kick off at Recreation Park. £3 & £1 admission.
  3. Spartans EoS 3-2 Shippy (Buckley x 2) Played for 75 minutes with 10 men after Keatings red card when the score was 1-1. Onto the next game tonight.......
  4. This is the preliminary round. 22 teams were in the hat. 8 ties drawn and 6 byes into the 1st round.
  5. Oakley 3-2 Ballingry Kelty 0-3 Edinburgh City
  6. Yeah, Spartans won the first LL title today. Play-off with HL winners then bottom placed SPFL League 2 team is scheduled to start from end of next season. There is a maximum of 4 places available for next season but they could admit none or 2 as well. It depends on how many meet the criteria I suppose.
  7. As with anything on Wikipedia, it's not 100% accurate (there are no ex-junior clubs in the league) but here's as good an explanation as I can find online: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowland_Football_League
  8. Just for the benefit of anyone who doesn't have access to Twitter, Facebook, the EoS website. ;o)
  9. Yeah. Just edited that post. I'd pasted the same tweet twice and missed out the one with the Lochore score.

  11. The first one was just two players challenging for the ball. I don't think it was a foul. The second one there was a defender on the by-line who had tried to make a challenge on the No 14 before the ball was initially cut back. He played the boy on. I think there was an offside for the 3rd goal though. Xgates were unlucky that one of their chances early in the second half didn't go in. They started the 2nd half really well. One cleared off the line with the keeper beat and another hit the post. Could've been a different game had either gone in as Edinburgh were struggling at that point.
  12. Bo'ness 4-1 Linlithgow from Twitter.
  13. Ha, Well done on a cracking result for Brian and the United boys today. I know a few of the Valleyfield guys and they must be a decent side. I'm glad you've managed to get your PC fixed as well Utdlad. I'm guessing it's been broken the last couple of weeks. Seeing as you only post on here about the 'big team', feel free to follow the twitter or facebook accounts. All scores are put up there as soon as the full-time whistle blows. Enjoy your win tonight.
