  1. Game against Lochgelly cancelled due to weather conditions. Season kicks off this Sat Eyemouth Utd visit in League Cup 2.30 ko.
  2. 25/7/15 - Shippy 0-3 Rosyth Civil Service [0-2 at HT] - well beaten on the day, our young team couldn't deal with a very good display by Civil, all the best to them in their Kingdom campaign. Next to visit are Lochgelly Albert on Tue with 7.30 ko.
  3. Pre-season match at Recreation Park last night resulted in a 6-2 [4-1 at HT] win for the Shippy. Very good workout for us & a deserved win. Next game is at home against Rosyth Civil Service this Sat 2.15 ko.
  4. Myles Allan resigned his position as Burntisland Shipyard Manager w.e.f. 2/9/14, after 20 months in charge. Deeply frustrated after the weekend defeat at Peebles, he feels he cannot take the team any further and has decided to call time on his career at the Shipyard. Assistant Manager Jason McCrindle also resigned. The club would like to thank them both for their hard work, dedication and the time and effort they put into their respective positions and wish them well in the future. Coach James Lock will take charge of the team meantime, assisted by Lee Rough, until a new appointment is made.
  5. EOS Qualifying League Cup section : Shippy 1-0 Civil Service strollers scorer : Henderson. Next 2 home games Wed 6th Aug v Dundee Utd U20's ko 7pm Tue 12th Aug Fife Cup semi v Raith Rovers ko 7pm

    Aye, 1-1 after 90 - pens went [kinross first]scored 1-0 / saved [ref ordered retake, saved again] / saved / scored 1-1 / saved / scored 1-2 / scored 2-2 / saved / scored 3-2 / MISSED.
  8. Aye, Civil did shade 1st half, but were gifted their 2 goals, 1st was a definite offside [yards, not inches] & 2nd scored when Vale keeper [looked about 16] came out to edge of 18 yard box & ball just lofted over him into the net, Vale got 1 back from pen award. Vale No 5 was fortunate to last the 90 as booked early doors & had a few mistimed tackles during game & similarly Civil No 4 who was booked in 2nd half & committed same type of tackle 5mins later & got away with it. Thought Vale very unfortunate not to take something from this game, hit woodwork 3 times in 2nd half, with Civil only replying the once......got to say it, Civil's time wasting in 2nd half was up there with the best of AC / Inter Milan.
  9. Ylum shot themselves in the foot last night, went 1-0 down when Ylum player dallied about with the ball, & lost it, they [Ylum]scored a couple of good goals to lead 2-1, then lost another poor goal just before HT with an unchallenged header from a free kick given for a daft foul 2-2 at HT. Leven scored their 3rd with a shot from their No 7 which somehow alluded the keeper - Ylum made their 3 subs & charged forward looking for the equaliser & in doing so left gaps at the back that were not punished. Thought Ylum No 4 had a very good game. 3-2 to Leven in the end & Ylum will feel they should have taken something from the game.
  10. Aye, 4-2 to GPR, GPR played some good stuff & had Leven under the cosh for long periods of the game, 1-0 at ht - GPR scored 2 quick goals early in 2nd half to kill the game, Leven scoring their 2nd in injury time.

Bowhill 7-0 Hertz - Good performance by Bowhill, impressive displays by No's 2 & 7 in particular. Take it the Hertz down to the bare bones today, no subs, shame as their wee No 17 was the worst I've ever seen, absolutely hopeless. It got so bad that after goals 5,6 & 7 went in the Bowhill players had to centre the ball for the Hertz kick-offs, no Hertz players made a move to get the ball back on the centre spot, great sportsmanship. The Bowhill goalie could have had a picnic in his 18 yard box, he had so little to do in the game.
  12. Huge collapse by YM in 2nd half, considering HT score was 0-0 - Bathgate scored first then Ym equalised a couple of mins later, then Bathgate scored again, 3 goals in 4-5mins, another 4 for Bathgate followed without reply.
  13. Hibs 8-0 Shippy, 4-0 at HT - no tap ins either, all ferocious strikes - a lesson given on how to keep the ball - their keeper even saved a last min pen - really good fitba side, even with Kevin Thomson playing.

Bowhill 2-0 Ylum aet - 0-0 after 90 mins - Ylum were well beaten on the day, they did have slightly the better of 1st half without creating any clear cut chances, Bowhill created the better chances & could have had 3-4 goals in 2nd half, but their finishing was very poor, Ylum on the back foot from start of 2nd half & the longer it went on the more chances Bowhill created as Ylum midfield waseventually over-run & by the time extra time came along Bowhill were dominant & deserved to go through to next round.
