LARRY
Scotland quite simply couldn't defend.Usual mistake with scottish sides at youth level.Pick big guys at the back, because, well because everyone knows that defenders have to be big guys.Well not at this age they don't.Just do what Holland and top countries do.Pick the best technical players and play the game on the ground. As for the players, if they are good technically, there is a good chance they will grow later in their teens and you will have a defender who can play.If they are crap at football, no matter how big they are they will always be crap at football. Our defenders were big, lumbering and not just poor technically they also weren't even smart enough to read the movement of their opposing numbers and stay close enough to them. That said there was still some good footballers in the Scotland side and overall they did okay. The Dutch are miles ahead of us in their approach to football. But that is nothing new, our game is run by dinosaurs. scotty mac
It was dismal viewing although I think your being pretty harsh. Some great footballers on show, hopefully we can grow from it
