LeslieHearts72
The way the senior set up is now with teams requiring an u20 side also has a knock on affect, at Leslie we have 7 players aged between 17-19, if they show their potential and do well clubs will be looking at them, but hopefully they are happy at playing week in week out and decide to stay Mariner
Mariner
Yep that's another knock on affect as you say What doesn't help is the financial outlay and when did we really get any support from the SFA ie subsidised coaching courses etc Pitch hire and training facilities prices going up not to mention trying to source sponsors What players don't see is what goes on behind the scenes in running a club Berti, veteran and Bombscare

Mariner
so correct me if I'm wrong Strath folded, what happened to Kingdom and St Monans or was it a 1 off being unable to field teams?
LeslieHearts72
Kingdom have folded as well
REX
That's tragic, but a sign of times. We are very lucky to have good sponsors and still have to put a lot of effort into fundraising and donating money to keep the club sound. The manager often has to put his hand in his own pocket which should never be the case. Cost of running a team and commitment level of players is not what it was when I started back in the 1800's. hopefully that's the last club to go this season. bobthecoalman
Could it be the leagues are to big and not competitive enough? Liek you don’t see teams at the top folding . There folding couse boys do t want beat every week and also thought the teas that folded are good sides there not competing for anything. Don’t k ow the solution or if that’s even the problem . Just a thought
ceejay
Leagues are always competitive,in a 14 team league in my opinion there’s a top 4 middle 6 and a bottom 4(3 leagues in 1)it was always going to be difficult merging the top teams from 2 different set ups into 1 league, there’s always going to be teams that are going to struggle, think the problem is that some players show no commitment nowadays, still it’s a sign of the times, and these teams will unfortunately not be the last to fold.
