  1. we are playing Limeklins on 7th Scotty! i phoned you earlier Shaun & left a message on your answering machine to advise you that your game may now be in question vs TOTT @ South Queensferry. I would check out asap mate as although they said we were ok to play there on Wednesday when i phoned them on Sunday they have now left us in the lurch by saying their pitch is not available & won't be available for the forseeable as they are resting it, despite me being told there was no problem when i rang before. Just as well i phoned them today otherwise we would've had a lot of well p****d off lads turning up over there tomorrow. Fortunately it was only me that was the one that was left p****d off! Just as well i got pitches organised for our upcoming games over here as i had provisionally booked over there due to struggling to get pitches here & was told by the manager of the place that there was no problem Game v DUFC now re-scheduled for Thursday 7pm ko @ Pitreavie
  2. Sky FC v Tam's Bar - Sunday - 11am kick-off at Pitreavie. Any other games on?
  3. check the website, 4 friendlies arranged so far
  4. well done & many congratulations to The Kings. Thoroughly deserved win tonight and much better team throughout. Thought it was going to be a very long night with going down 2-0 reasonably early in the game however we battled away & had a couple of chances to make it closer although if the Kings had been on top form and but for some great clearances, they could've scored a lot more. Been quite a stressful day trying to get a team together with having to pull a couple of boys in to help out & also having to play myself as well however i did enjoy the 60 minute run out. My 3rd start in 5 years All the best to the Kings for the future in their new division next season.
  5. regardless of what went on with the handbags (which was started by an Alpha player), I found it was all very unsporting from a few United players as Alpha were in clear possession of the ball in acres of space when the ref stopped play. From the drop ball, it seemed like the ball was going to be played back initially as I found it strange why the Alpha player did not even go close to make a challenge for the drop ball and it also seemed like something was initially agreed to play the ball back as once the initial pass was played from the drop ball it looked like some of the United players initially for a minute seem to stop & then seemed to realise the situation that after a couple of passes that there was lots of space for the United strikers and thought, nah let's play on as Alpha had left themselves very short at the back and out of position as though they were expecting the ball to be played back also. The way i see it was, United took advantage of a situation that arose and asked questions later after realising they had a chance to hit on the break and Alpha can feel rightly agrieved by their actions. I certainly wouldn't have been happy if we had lost in that matter!!!. I still found the restart baffling too as it seemed like some of the United players were gonna let Alpha go up field & score for a minute as they had completely stopped initially for about 5 secs without even going near the ball then someone from the United team just wasn't having it & went and challenged and won the ball back.
  6. having watched the game i would say was it was very unsporting, when we played our game against Dunfermline Sporting on Sunday, one of our players knocked a ball out of play when in possession due to an injury to a Sporting player who was laying on the ground and from the throw in we stood off to await the ball coming back & the Sporting player booted the ball towards our keeper long & looping which was also unsporting as it was going on target but our keeper read the situation. We didn't make a deal of it but think we would've been absolutely raging also had the ball went in. On this occasion, it was a drop ball but the Alpha guys were clearly awaiting the ball back from United then before they knew it, with many of their players out of position & having switched off, found within seconds that they had to try to win the ball back after United played a few passes before Thommo had a fair bit of space and belted it in the top corner from 25 yards. I guess it was needs must and DUFC certainly took advantage of the situation. The bit i didn't quite understand was when Alpha kicked off again where the guy took centre with his hands in disgust, was then asked to restart by the ref, a few words were exchanged between all then it was like all the United players stood still for a moment as though they were going to let Alpha go up & score but then someone in a United shirt decided knacker this & won the ball back then seconds later when the ball was switched wide the Alpha player wildly dived in late to get his second booking and sent off, it was all a bit of a confusing watch at the restart.
  7. thought a draw would've been a fair result. Alpha had the better of the first half with a deserved 1-0 half-time lead. They then seemed to make a bit of a tactical change at half-time with the big boy they had up front who had caused United many problems put back in midfield. They then lost their way badly for 25 mins as United took control and led 2-1 where there only looked to be one winner however United seemed to stop playing as Alpha came back into it with about 10 mins left to equalise. It looked as though it was going to end 2-2 before an incident happened with a bit of handbags so the ref stopped play. Alpha had the ball at the time. The ref then gave a drop ball which would usually see the ball being played back to the team in possession at the time however United were having none of it and played the ball forward where Thommo then struck from 25 yards into the top corner with the winner.
  8. Our 48 year old centre half was outstanding tonight. Pretty much an ever present this season. Dont know how he keeps doing it week in week out!
  9. i thought you done well that day Scott ;-) it was game changing when you went off mate was a belting game which really could've went either way up til the last 5 mins when you's got 5-3 ahead after us having two shots cleared off the line at 4-3.
  10. considering you play as a defender, I think you have scored a better goal Scotty - in DUFC's 7-1 win over Junction Bar on 28th December 2007 with your strike which was at least from 40 yards which probably had the best celebrations of a goal i have seen! Fair credit to the lad that struck the goal yesterday, definately meant what he was doing but I have seen many better goals in Sunday football. Probably the best goal i have seen in over 10 years of being involved with Sunday football was Currie's overhead kick when DUFC were losing to Limekilns 2-4 with only 5 mins to go, the goal then spurred us on to score 2 more in the last couple of mins to go on & win 5-4 with Currie going on to complete his hat-trick. The Limekilns boys that came off the park that day were absolutely stunned.

  12. Lochgelly Kings Arms 5 Sky FC 3: great game today between two teams trying to get the ball down & play some really good football in spells, our team shape & work ethic was much better from us than last week's performance. First half we just edged it leading 2-1, second half Kings edged it with two reasonably late goals in the last 15 mins being enough. Not much in the game with both teams creating numerous scoring chances. At 4-3 down we had two very close efforts with one that we just couldn't get over the line after a bit of a scramble which may have just been enough to take it to pens, where as the Kings 4th goal was very similar however they managed to convert the scramble. We were never out of the game before a late goal with 10 mins to go which was enough to give the Kings the breathing space to victory. Referee handled game well and kept up with play which helped make a very enjoyable watch today despite defeat. Sky Scorers: Craig Anderson, Craig Chisholm (2). All the best to The Kings
  13. yeah Scotty, John will alter soon
  14. Sorry. already got game lined up v dufc next wednesday mate. You might want to try coadys? as they were asking us today if we had game lined up
  15. Cheers for help sorting game after original pitch called off Shaun. Good assessment of game. All the best to Rosyth Rec lads for the coming season! On pitch, we're back there next wednesday v dufc Scotty
  16. Barley Sheaf 3-3 Sky FC We started brightly first 5 mins before Barley took control and had a strong 15 minute spell scoring twice, with their flying winger Jake Rodgers (who was a thorn in the side all day), hit a cracker from just outside the box to make it 1-0 then they scored again not long later to make it 2-0. We made a tactical change which helped us and we got back in the game 2-1 before half-time. Thought the game then hinged on 3 decisions within a minute half-way through the second half as we should've had a penalty through a clear handball which wasn't given, then seconds later after the incident we got a corner and another clear handball incident happened which the ref didn't give only for Barley to swoop on the break from it with Thommo scoring to make it 3-1 for them which we were obviously feeling very agrieved about. We then got a goal back with about ten minutes left to make it 3-2 after a bad mistake by the Barley goalkeeper. With 2 minutes to go our striker found himself clean through only to scuff his shot therefore Barley then tried to kill down the clock with 3 minutes of injury time left, doing the right thing and keeping the ball in the corner in our end. In the dying seconds we got the ball back and although our striker was at least 5 yards offside the Barley defender knocked on our through ball with his head for our striker who had missed moments earlier to latch on to it to find himself clean through again and this time he kept his composure to finish very well and equalise with the last kick of the ball. Barley will feel they really should've won the game although a draw was a fair result overall IMO. Proud of the way our guys battled right to the end and very glad we managed to equalise so that the bitter taste of not getting 1 of 2 handball decisions at the crucial moment didn't ruin our day. We also should've had 2 clear other penalties whilst Barley had a fair shout for one too. We were also very fortunate that one of our boys wasn't booked a second time with about half an hour left when he may have been booked a second time for handball outside of the box. All in all the ref done ok with the exception of not giving any penalty decisions. All the best to Barley for the rest of the season A big morale booster getting an equaliser for us which must've felt like a defeat for the Barley boys. Scorers: R. Anderson, Stevenson, Montgomery
  17. Sky 2 Buckhaven Railway Tavern 0 Good to get a game this week again. Many thanks to the Buckhaven lads & all the best for the rest of the season Game played in good spirits. Great referee in charge today also Scorers: Stewart OG
  18. how many players you got coming from perth, edinburgh wattie? one look out the Window this morning and I could have called the game off myself. Matter of fact is, we had to phone up and aske Dalgety Bay leisure centre if the game was off. The number I had been texting about the game didn't pick up until i got a call off someone else at 09.20. Mibbe thats ok in your opinion, but not for me when you have guys travelling an hour or so to get to a game. I can understand if a park is 50-50 playable and theres a chance of a game, but this wasnt a situation like that. i am very sorry for any inconvenience involved. I stay in Dunfermline which is about 15-20 mins away from Dalgety Bay. Please note that although our first contact was the one who previously contacted you before today, he was not going to the game so it was my job to find out what was happening. As of yesterday Dalgety Bay declared the pitch playable so the game was on (dependant on overnight weather). I got out of bed at 8.42am this morning, first thing i done was look out my window to find it a little bit wet with a very little bit of slush on my car window (I didn't go to bed until about 4am this morning and it had been generally ok overnight up until i went to bed). Dalgety Bay Leisure Centre does not open until 9am. I called them at 9.01 only to get no answer. I then called them again at 9.05 to find the number engaged. I then tried again at 9.06 to find they were engaged. I then tried calling our first contact at 9.07 to get no answer again (having tried him at 8.45 when i first got up to see if he was out of his bed to ask him what it was like down in Rosyth where he stays which is closer to Dalgety Bay than from where I am). I then called Dalgety Bay again at 9.08 to then get informed the game was off. I then called you on your house phone number at 9.11 to get no reply. I then tried your mobile at 9.12 to get an engaged tone, trying twice more between 9.13-9.15 before finally getting you to advise the game was off. Maybe it should've been explained to you yesterday that a call on whether the game would have been playable or not wouldn't have been able to be made until after 9am when Dalgety Bay opened so I am sorry for not letting you know that was the case however if you had so much of a problem with it then you should have said when you were on the phone to me instead of coming on here to have a moan We have guys who have to travel too (Falkirk / Leslie) and a couple of our boys had already left to come to the game before I was able to let them know what was happening however there was not much else I could have done given the circumstances other than maybe let you know that i wouldn't have known until after 9am this morning if it was going to be on or not. Unfortunately, I cannot predict the weather however there was still a chance the game could've been on even after I looked out my window at 8.42. Matter of fact is you should check the time - it was 9.15 i got hold of you (not 9.20 as stated above) and instead of moaning that you cannot get hold of the first contact if you were that desperate to find out earlier, you could've always tried calling the second contact but i do apologise for not letting you know any earlier than what was possible and I will address the fact to away teams in future that if a decision has to be made on the day of the game that they will not know until after 9am when the premises open
  19. hope wee andy got 2 match balls told him he needs to work on his finishing at training aye heard he should of got at least 8 got to be a record,6 goals on yer debut Andy's a cracking finisher, a great signing for you, he'll score barrell loads
  20. Stu Taylor is best keeper in the league by a mile.Sky doing well this year Johnny you have got a very good team mate. When did Stu become a keeper? I played at Rosebank with him and he was outfield player, was struggling to make all games due to work commitments I think back then. Stu would be playing outfield however he got a bad injury at training last year which kept him out for a long spell, he is a very good goalkeeper and although his leg doesn't feel 100% just yet for playing outfield for 90 mins has showed brilliant commitment to the club by deciding he wanted to play in goals (which may have been a problem position for us) to build his fitness on the leg back up until he feels right to challenge for an outfield spot again.
  21. LEAGUE RESULT CRYSTAL BARCELONA 2-2 SKY FC Barca went 2-0 up early in the first 20 mins of the game before Sky really got started. We pulled a goal back before half-time before equalising in the second half. Fair result overall i think as Crystal could've nicked it but for a brilliant save by Stu Taylor whilst we hit the post also late on. All the best to the Crystal lads for the rest of the season and for the great sausage & chips back at their pub edited to add: council badly need to get up to the no 7 pitch & give it a cut 1 of our boys came off injured, am amazed no one else did due the pitch condition Scorer: TAM MONTGOMERY (2)
