The man has came to Rangers at 36 years of age to help out a good friend and good gaffer and surpassed everything that that anyone expected him to do. Big shout out to Walter Smith.....who finally played 4-4-2 against celtic and found out (too late) that it is the best way set up against a team who attack. Deserved win for the wily old fox who was up against 'a better younger manager' in dhannys views P.s. Why was Scott Brown not playing today? Will be interesting to hear Lennons take on the game, also thought the players from both sides behaved without taking to much of the passion out of the game. Galactico_Soccer_Mercenary Posted March 21, 2011 Report Share Posted March 21, 2011 Todays result was the best for scottish football, if walter had gone 5-4-1 we coulda been sitting here just now looking @ the east end of glasgow doing the domestic treble i think. But he surprised everybody by playing 4-4-2. Rangers deserved it IMO, celtic's fullbacks never got to bomb forward like in the previous games. Charlie and Thomas struggled to handle big Jelavic all day and Naismith showed just what an important player he is now, just his willingness to chase everything gave rangers an extra dimension that theyve missed. Davis was terrific as was big Nikica tho he's a diving cant. Davie Weir Immense, for me should have got MOTM as he kept hooper as quiet as hes been all season. Ffs rangers might have won in 90 mins if it wasnt for playing with10 men for 80 odd minutes, can somecant tell me why he keeps playing LAFFERTY, hes got zero going for him, weiss should be playing in front of him. Think the leagues gonna go down to the last game now that Rangers only have the league to concentrate on. Ps: Young Greg Wylde showed more endeavour and fight in the first 20 mins against the worst celtic captain in the modern era Scott Brown than Diouf did in his 3 outings.
