  1. What was the score folks and how did the game go?
  2. All three games were won by Scotland Only saw the 18's game. Goodness knows how it was still 0-0 at half-time because Wales had loads of chances but they missed the target/ Gordon Moffat (Thornton Hibs U19) made good saves/ Mathew Morgan (Kettle Utd) cleared the ball off the goal-line. Second-half started the same but Scotland took the lead against the run of play. A cross was sent over and the big Welsh 'keeper was guilty of waving to his gran in the crowd. The ball went through to the captain, Chris Gay, (Thornton Hibs U19) who knocked the ball over the line. Just at the back of that, Scotland were awarded a penalty that Nicholas Fleming (unattached) converted. These two quick goals really knocked the stuffing out of Wales who lost their discipline and shape for a while but they settled down and pulled one back. Scotland weathered the storm after that and held out for the victory. Dead chuffed for the four Thornton Hibs U19's who took part - Gordon Moffat, Callum Kinnes, Chris Gay & Jake Mitchell. They get to keep their Scotland jerseys with their names on the back. How many of us can say that? Quality post that. Never made it to the game but well done boys.

  7. On the other side of this do you think kids should gat a chance with a pro team if "Good enough"? I find this a hard decision to make for me. I'm in the kids game for them to be as good as they can be and if it means a chance to step up why not? Yes some will get knock backs but how else would you get kids from our local parks into a Scotland jersey in a few years time? I Would love them all to be tops at the game but as a coach for 5 years I can say that our best player is not nearly as good a few year down the line as expected and vice-versa for the ones that were not as good. Pro teams must find it hard as kids grow to keep them if not performing as planned. An evil that we need in the game I'm afraid. Parents must make a call for there child and hope it works out or keep them at a lower level and know a Scotland call up is not for them.
  8. Well done woodside Keep the forum updated of your progress.
  9. Yep totally played us off the park today probably could have been more. Wish Methil all the best for the rest of the season. number 12 Think this comment is fishing for a transfer!
  10. Good luck I may even come along and watch!

  12. Anyone know the parks telephone no for the council?
  13. I was the treasurer for an armature team for several seasons a few years ago and estimate that for us to function properly We require £2000-£2500 per year. I have since moved on from the team and am now involved with kid’s football at u13 level. Although not directly involved with the money side would estimate that a youth side still require at least £1800 to have a basic budget for the season. Nearly every parent wants there child not only enjoying the sport but want there kid to look good and feel good. SFA/SYFA is making money out he game that’s for sure. A point worth a mention - My kid also played rugby and the facilities around the country were so much better. I was informed it was due to money From SRU being made available for local clubs.
  14. Taking ma 2 kids to there first Scotland game to night Will be in the Family section. The 2 bairns have kilts hats face paint the lot. Lets hope it’s a game they will remember for all the right reasons for ever. We ll be coming
