  1. I am not going to go down thr route of having a go at anyone on the park/sidelines etc, however your comment that the ref was awful defies belief - If your going to blame the ref for a lacklustre performance, you maybe need to take it up yourself - in my opinion he may have got a couple of things wrong, but certainly nothing of significance. It was a bad performance from St Andrews, end of story. The only thing I would say in relation to the match was that fitness may need to be "upped" a little and I can understand about training being hit with the weather, however you dont always get snow on the beach!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Anyone know if any other games are on???
  3. Did big Paterson not get a 2nd booking at Warout once for "picking up a dog" with his right boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Ireland FA did not specifically pay for him it was an Irish businessman that put the money up to get him as far as I was lead to believe so we in Scotland need the same or it will be the cheap route once again. Am I not right in saying that that Levein has a clause in his contact at Dundee utd that says if a bigger club comes in for him he can go if that is what he wants and he does am sure want to prove himself in England as never had a great time the last so would he want to take on a job that would surely scupper his chances of any big move in the future?? Ossie Ardiles now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does he not put himself forward for every job that comes around and gets none of them! There really is not a lot of quality wanting the role which is a shame as at the end of the day it is our national team manager, regardless of what the state of the team is and am sure we want a high profile gaffer, but none of them seem to be interested......give me strength, Craig Brown - he will be wanting his side kick Roxburgh back as well! I know it is best to get someone in asap, however we don't start our real games for a long while so maybe in this instance it is an idea to hold off and see what happens nearer the summer with managers and club situations?
  5. Does it really matter what they are doing in the league now? The way I see it is if/when they turn junior, they will have an increased income and the opportunity to attract a better standard of player than they can just now being amatuer. Surely it's more a case of do the have the facilities? Do they have the people on board to make it work? Do they have their local community backing? Its's things like this that would make it work for them, and not their current squad. I say good on them, for having the insight and ambition to want to take the step up. That's what progress is all about Agreed As it is a small village they have great local support and this has been the case for many many years, plus as someone has said on another post, they are continually trying to make their ground better and its a pretty decent surface as it is .(right now it would put some junior grounds throughout Scotland to shame!) As far as I know they have someone looking after the park on a regular basis so I would agree that the comparisons with Ballingry are fairly strong. Good shout above, why should they not make a move to progress - also as far as I am lead to believe it is quite a young team right now so if they decide to move up a notch good luck to them..................
  6. You have hit the nail on the head with Hegarty - what has he done in the game except make a pigs ear of every post he has had and in the majority I think he has received the bullet............I didn't see the game either, however always said he has to go due to his obvious lack of guidance, discipline and his bizarre team selections and playing players out of position...........lets face it Kevin Kyle, the guy has lost it! Another factor is an old argument and the state of the whole game up here - who was the last player our country found in the same class as Ramsay? The boy has obviously received top coaching and direction from Arsenal, howewer I cannot see how Wales can produce quality and we can't - it can't be the beer as they drink as much as we do!!!!
  7. Millsy with a wonder goal to win it, keeper maybe should have done better though. Thought Saints were the better team today and ryan connor kept bluebell in it with some great saves. Couple of open goal misses from saints in closing stages. On todays game, the better team lost, but sayin that i think the bluebell did enough to win in the 1st game. 2 overpaid teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor as it gets...................... You've Not a clue son..... Big P it's the first time he has posted when it's not to reply to me so think yourself lucky mate. I'm sick of the batty boy being my groupie. Still slavering the same amount of pish right enough. Am I getting to you or something?? Its a little sad when you start getting personal..............you continued to go on about me "stalking" you yet it would appear to me that it is the opposite?!
  8. Chelski 1-2 Man Utd ................Rooney and would have said Scholes but after a match through the week Fergie may give him a break so go for Owen off le bench

  10. prob cause he's no Spanish unirea just score as I write this Its either that or because he is sh1t!! His manager must have one of the poorest records for transfers in and out over the years and why is it that before every game their is speculation that Torres may be injured? - can't see him having a long career. I think it sums Benitez up that he tried to get rid of Alonso last year - the guy was arguably their best midfield player over the whole season - are the kop starting to smell the coffee? I didn't think he made any effort to get rid of Alonso? Thought it was the opposite? Do agree some dodgy transfers. Am pretty sure he tried to sell him not this pre-season but the one before......maybe he changed his mind but if I am right, they guy did the right thing is disappearing even if it was to Real Madrid as Benitez had let the guy down before.....I am sure the season before last pre-season he was out of the team more than in it (sure it was the year he scored from the half way line in the FA cup - might be wrong with my years but pretty sure he wanted rid) Benitez has spent more than any other in the last few years and Babel is bad but Voronin must be worse!!!!!! pickitout you are right he did try to sell him to get money for the Gareth Barry deal but it fell through Juvie wouldn't pay what was the asking price at the time. Alonso felt let down & decided he would leave when the right club came along. Certainly got his wish then and deserves it as he is a quality player in my opinion and speaks volumes for Benitez as I do not think Barry could lace his boots!!

  13. James Herkes to the Port???????????????????? Good signing ..................
  14. where about was he cheating tonight ? i thought he played well and took his goals well, however agueros two strikes were class, a point does us which is more than rankgers will pick up the morra Just back in from their game are you??
  15. Watched 2nd half of Man Utd game and he may have got a deflected equaliser, plus you find it very hard to question Fergie, BUT Valencia is torture - I am still trying to work out exactly what he offers week in week out..............on a seperate matter Pato of Milan is some player...scored a cracker only for it to be ruled out in the 1st half
  16. I have witnessed first hand the SFA coaching programme, and I must confess I agree with Mitch. One of the courses I attended was led by a former SFL Manager(who shall remain anonymous out of professional courtesy), and the materials were very very poor, and to add to this they thought it appropriate to swear and degrade some of the younger participants throughout the session. A question to Mitch and Coop who are obviously involved in Youth Football, can I ask there views on school football and its role in youth development? agree with both mitch and coops youth football has to move forward BUT HOW everyone playing same rules would be a great start more help/funding from SYFA more communication with clubs fromSYFA more school football also playing same rules and with better funding from SYFA as stated before we get nothing in return I understand that their may be some changes coming through though I am not sure if these are national or not - to be honest it has been a bit cloak and dagger so no idea what is involved but will be able to say after Wednesday when I find out. Everyone here is right from the problems facing youth football clubs and the support you get - I once tried to get 2 of the council/SFA reps to do a weeks coaching at our club and we were willing to pay - after around 6 emails and a dozen phone calls without being answered or replied to I gave up......if youth football is so vital (which it is), why would these reps do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My sentiments are that it is about having somewhere for the kids to go once you take them as far as you can age wise - this is where local clubs come in ie senior or junior, and as been mentioned above it appears that getting involved with a youth or feeder team (call it whatever), is too small time for these clubs - they would rather shell out on an ex-senior for cash than bring a youngster through - time is looming to smell the coffee though and the cash is drying up big style - good luck to all the youth teams in their quest for support/direction, I fear we may be facing more uphill battles
  17. So what is the story at L'Gelly as they have good experienced junior players?? Can't all be bad luck?
  18. How many of the above named players were at some point Snr, not even just at 1 club ?? so why are they now playing in the lowere tier of Fife Jnr football. And you missed out the legend that is Rolph Hunter - pure quality
  19. And I hear that the "PORT" may be strengthened by another signing from St Andrews, although he has been injured recently - if he can get fit it will certainly help Tayport in getting back up
  20. I think Ricky's playing it down when he said it could have been 15 - could have been double that, and if it had finished 30 - 1 I don't think Forress could have complained. Just think what the score would have been if OVD Scottish cup winner (twice) Randolph Wemyss Hunter had been playing! the man is a legend
  21. Pele outstanding player but his predicitions and opinions on football are somewhat interesting to say the least and I would have to question how much Scottish games Pele viewed with Laudrup and Larsson playing. Good point mate. Would also like to point out after the 1974 world cup Pele was asked who he considered was the best player of the tournament. Answer Davie Hay (Scotland) He must have emptied a full bottle of viagra down his throat prior to coming away with that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Hopefully he'l take some of the dross he left behind at celtic !! Can see him coming in for Caldwell in January. Up to his usual antics on Sky tonight and answering a question with a smart reply.................he was on about a sheet of paper he had on his way into the training ground and the media thought it was a list of players he was looking to get in - he may well of torched it after the last few ceptic games and I hope he has!!!! Also he is after a striker on loan, PLEASE do not be HaHaSamaras!!!!!!!!!!!!

And they go on about how good the EPL is - I know they are thumping teams but that is something I would watch week in week out - the way they move the ball around 2 touch max is fantastic - played with plenty of guys who's 4th touch was a tackle let along their 2nd!! Messi is head and shoulders above anything in world football Didn't thump the Russians though Good effort......the Champs league is not won over 90 mins of the qualifying rounds. To be fair to your ridiculous post even their gaffer said that they were not good enough to win the CL - if that's the case and they can be more consistent in the quality week in week out I for one do not see anything that can get near them - they won virtually everything last year and were highly inconsistent......suppose you would rather watch the Russian league!!! Please tell me what is ridiculous about the post. You said Barca are thumping teams. I merely pointed out they didn't thump the Russians. Did they not get beaten by them? Don't get the Russian league on council tele so I don't know what it's like. I'm not having a go at Barca they are a joy to watch, but unlike one or two people on here I don't idolise them and don't think for one minute they are unbeatable. Have a nice day now. no idolising from my perspective, I am only talking from a FOOTBALL point of view and at no time did I say unbeatable - the forum is full of negative issues relating to poor football and unsatisfactory relating the the money people pay to watch it - I would suggest that anyone would pay money to watch that - football at its best and exactly what the sport is all about and how it should be played
