  1. Shaun are you being serious with this post mate? If you look at the current situation and the fact Rangers have won the 3rd Div this year they will be promoted to the 2nd Div, if the vote had gone through for the start of next season Rangers would stay in the 3rd Div. So if you run both set ups "hypothetically" with Rangers starting in the 2nd Div under current set up and staying in the 3rd Div in new set up and give them subsequent promotions each season, the timescale would be exactly the same. There is no way any scenario can get Rangers back to the top league quicker under the current set up or if there was the new set up being voted against today. I suppose the only option Scottish football has now is to take the radical step of inviting Rangers into the top league, however this would cause a great deal of ambiguity amongst every single club in the Scottish game and would effectively drive the fans away, so it's back to square one mate. I agree the result today brings another stalemate into our games midst and I can see the SFA taking the bull by the horns and changing the entire set up and dragging both league set ups into it kicking and screaming. I see it getting messy.
  2. Friendly game played yesterday. Blairhall 3 v 3 Kirkcaldy Rovers Kdy were 2-0 down in the first 10 mins with a very slow start but eventually got into the game and pulled a goal back around 30 mins in, then Blairhall got a third 5 mins later followed by Kdy responding straight away to bring the 1st half to a close at 3-2. 2nd half was good for Kdy in the first half hour when we pulled level with a well worked passing move that deserved a finish. The last 15 mins was all Blairhall and had Jamie making saves all over the place with some great efforts. Not a brilliant game for either side but it was played in the right spirit and credit to both sides for keeping their discipline. Thanks for the match.
  3. Just saw the weather forecast for tomorrow, it doesn't look good and according to the report were looking at 10cm of snow fall 4" for those challenged mathematically. I hope you get your cup game played, it might be a challenge getting the snow off the park though. Good luck
  4. I have to echo john's sentiments and say it was a privilege working with the Kinross players who always maintained a positive outlook and worked well during training to learn more about the game. We would have liked more time and opportunity to make things change for the better but circumstances change and I hope Billy and his back room team can make a positive impact at the club. With that in mind I have decided to step away and let the new management carry out their role with impunity. Good luck Kinross.
  5. Well I don't have any news for you. I'm sure you guys are "well informed" and will let everyone know when you do :-)
  6. One thing I learnt over the years is to never believe the rumours unless you hear it from the horses mouth. The only people or persons who will know that will be the management and or the committee at Kinross so it's better to wait and see what happens.
  7. So....if its not the same club anymore, why does the SPL want to strip them of their titles that were won as Rangers and at the moment they are recognised as Rangers so if they don't have any history how do they still have titles that the SPL want? Wriggle out of that.
  8. When a business offers a loan it is a lending of funds that are NOT subject to tax but can be subject to interest if the lender chooses to apply any. The use of EBT's was a legal definition of offering loans to staff that were deemed NOT taxable funds until HMRC decided to look again at the process back in 2009. They didn't confirm any conclusion about the process at that time until 2011 when they decided to close that option. Rangers declared there use of the EBT every year in their accounts as has been proven and showed due dilligence in providing a clear legal framework for using the EBT facility. It is also important tto note that the SPL also agreed every single year that Rangers books were in order and above board....that was until 2011. HMRC wanted to make an example out of someone to show they had muscle when it came to tax evasion and although they themselves still don't know if it's legal or not decided to pursue Rangers for the money as they felt confident because they are HMRC that they would win the case. As we are all aware they didn't win the case as has been shown and Rangers have been cleared of tax evasion. Now it's all about appeals.....i would suggest HMRC goes after the companies evading tax through corporate means i.e. Vodafone, Starbucks..etc....that way you might find your more successful. Yes it's painful that Rangers had to go into administration and newco Rangers was formed, they have had a very tough run and seem to be getting back on track. They have to continue in the bottom tier of Scottish Football and have to accept a transfer signing embargo, they are also being subject to an investigation for dual contracts which is in the hands of an enquiry at the moment and i'm sure there's plenty speculation on that front, susequently this is the SPL's agenda to strip Rangers of their titles won historically during the EBT years. So with Rangers having one arm tied behind their back and having lost face and faith in the governing bodies of Scottish Football with the exception of the SFL who have shown they have more sense than the SFA and SPL boards between them, it will be interesting to see what happens when this giant of British Football gets back on it's feet with no debt and a clear agenda to stick two fingers up to the SFA and SPL when they start winning the big trophies again.
  9. Is that no what I said TJ You said something similar but not quite factual Sean :-)
  10. The SFA have already said they wanted both leagues to come up with a proposal and work together to get something implemented, if they don't the SFA have stated that they WILL make the changes for them.
  11. Absolutely right, I made the reference to Celtic because they played to their own strengths and hit Barca on the break and got the result. Scotland have done this in the past and had a mixed result, although i refer to there game against Spain at Hampden the 2-3 result. That was a more open game and we played to match them and almost got away with the result. Now cynics would say Scotland played out of their skin and in the moment of the game you would probably all agree, but after the game when you look at the tactical play and the positional rotation that was evident, Scotland actually matched them for the 90 mins with the exception of the finishing. If we had had Rhodes or S Fletcher on the park, maybe the game would have produced a different result as these guys are proven goalscorers. It's in the past but we have to concentrate on being more positive going forward and having more control of the ball, if we start to dictate games and the flow of play we will start to dominate the opposition and eventually if the strikers have the right boots on, we get results.

I would like to congratulate the fans and the players at Celtic for a fantastic result against undoubtedly the best team on the planet just now. To win with aplomb against a far superior side deserves nothing less than credits. Well done Celtic. Yes I'm a bluenose but I hold no bias when it comes to entertaining football and the game tonight was special, even more so that Celtic are celebrating 125 years, so well done and I hope you go on to better things in the champions league.....deserved winners tonight.
  13. To be fair, whether a mansger succeeds is 50/50..somewhat different odds for lottery. Bar a dodgy penalty decision he'd prob still be in the job I can't argue about the decisions as the games have came and gone and the results don't lie, what I would say is that Scotland have to show a more attacking flair if they want to become a better side...to coin the old cliche' ....if you don't attack the team in front of you...you won't win the game. We do have good players who can win games, lets let them off the leash and have a bloody good go at teams, we can't fail for trying. Considering how well Celtic done tonight against a far superior Barcelona team, credit is given where credit is due, if you attack a better team, you have a chance to win.....and win they did........well done Celtic. I hope the new gaffer sees the spirit that can be gained and go bloody get em.
  14. I posted on here when Levein was announced as the new boss and i said then that i would put my mystic meg hat on and predicted that his appointment was a poor move and would result in Scotland having a poor return due to Levein's lack of experience and management credentials. It seems i should have put my lottery numbers on as well coz he ultimately proved me right. I was prepared to give the man a chance but having seen his past experience i knew there was no way he was going to bring any strength or credibility to the national side. I agree with some people that a character like Strachan or Souness who have won silverware and know what it takes to win games would be a good result for Scotland, it wouldn't make the players world beaters but i think it would add some steel to the side and maybe with the kids coming through we can have a better blend of attacking options. I noticed in all the campaign games for the world cup that Scotland were sitting far too deep and defending in their own half. I would like to see Scotland sitting higher up the park and letting the players do their bloody jobs properly like they do when they play at club level. We need more assured passing and movement and more control on and off the ball, there's a few basics lacking in the side and these need to be sorted out. I think Jordan Rhodes has good potential and Fletcher up there with him would be a decent strike force, both fighters and willing to work hard for the jersey. I would Give Charlie Adam a miss and the other Fletcher as they are poor in decision making and passing. I would use Bannan in there as a creative player as he seems to have pace and good movement and he holds onto the ball fairly well, he could be complimented by a fit Scott brown as the anchor man and someone who would do the dirty work. Defensively i'm not sure as there's too many to think about at this time. Still just opinions. I hope the SFA find and impliment the right man and give him the opportunity to make progress and if we see Scotland moving UP the world rankings, that can only be seen as progress at this time.
  15. Always playing bawbag, it's too easy with Numpties like you !!!! Someone has a great saying on here about idiots and lowering to their level, well in your case you win coz I did lower myself to your level and you did beat me with experience. You proved to everyone reading these forums when you started on me and my posts saying " T J Hooker" and all the other silly petty wee names. I don't hind behind a made up persona and I try to be reasonable in my diagnosis and points on here. You though are very immature and can't respect other people's opinions without being childish by name calling and the like. I wanted to highlight that and clearly I have. There are some rare occasions when you post that I agree with some of the things you say, there are a hell of a lot that I disagree with not including your posts, but I never revert to name calling and petty squabbles like you do. Maybe now as an adult you will think about it and act accordingly. I wait for the inevitable retort aimed at me now and once again you will highlight my point, or are you a man.
